To celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta, the British Library brought together the four remaining copies of the original document for a special exhibition. To accompany this we created a site fully documenting every known significant event to have happened over the course of the Magna Carta. The interactive map and timeline allows users to browse events geographically or chronologically, and those events are sorted into categories to allow filtering. The site is responsive down to 1024x768 and an adaptive solution was created for mobile, to offer a more appropriate experience on a small viewport.
The design is flexible enough to allow the library to use the templates as map only or timeline only experiences, lending itself to different kinds of projects in the future such as documenting literary works etc.
